Spirit Doll Publishing is dedicated to the books of author Ann Wills, DVM. Ann's first book, "The Spirit Doll Hat" is the foundation for her desire to help others thru the difficult process of terminal illnesses. The book is her mother’s message of love and hope and an undeniable affirmation that what we call death is—like birth—merely a transition and that we will once again rejoin those who have gone before.
When Ann Wills’ mother wanted her to take photos as she underwent radiation treatment at the Arizona Cancer Center, Ann thought this was an odd request. Who would want to be photographed while they underwent treatment for brain cancer? But Ann took the pictures because this was what her mother wanted her to do.
After her mother’s death, she considered writing about the passage of this incredible woman and the glimpse of heaven she gave to all those around her. However the obligations of her busy veterinary practice kept her from making a commitment to the project. Eight years later, her mother’s voice told her,“Ann, you need to write this. People need to hear this.” She sat down for three inspired days of non-stop writing and created the preliminary manuscript of the book.
If you have ever experienced the death of a loved one…if you have ever wondered, as Ann Wills DVM did, ‘where did they go?’…this book is a must read.”
Fifty Percent (50%) of the author’s proceeds from the sale of The Spirit Doll Hat are donated to the University of Arizona Cancer Center in the hope that one day there will be a cure for this devastating disease.
For many of us cancer is at the forefront of our thoughts. Almost daily you can find an article on the television or in a newspaper or magazine reporting on the cutting edge of cancer research and cancer hospice care.
Researchers and medical professionals are making great strides in the treatment and prevention of cancer. But in the war against this devastating disease, it still appears that cancer is winning the battle. Many patients turn to cancer hospice care centers.
Ann Wills DVM, author of The Spirit Doll Hat lost her mother to brain cancer in 2000. Her generous donation of proceeds from this book is her contribution toward finding a cure, so that others will never have to suffer the untimely loss of a loved one.
